BOLD: Telling people about Jesus
Goal for this month: God has called us to share the good news of the gospel with others! When we know and trust in Jesus, our hearts will want to tell all our friends and families, so that they will know Him too.
TOPIC: The Great Commission
MAIN POINT: Jesus has an important mission for His people; we are to share the good news about His rescue plan with others.
STORY: “Going home”, p. 318 in the Jesus Storybook Bible together.
**PARENTS: here are a few questions to help guide the discussion with your child. Feel free to use this is a starting off point, or ask your own questions that may best relate to your child. Allow your child to ask questions as well!
Focus on pages 322-323
Jesus tells Thomas that He is going to Heaven. Thomas says he doesn’t know the way, but Jesus reminds him that he does!
- What does Jesus tell Thomas the way is?
- If someone asks you how to get to Heaven, what would you tell them?
Jesus tells us to share with everyone about Him and His rescue plan.
- Who are some people you love that don’t know who Jesus is?
- Would you want to tell them about Jesus? Why or why not?
Memorize this verse together! Talk through why it is important and how it is the heart of the gospel & good news. This is the message we are called to tell others about.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
**PARENTS: End in prayer together. You may choose to lead prayer or encourage your child to pray with you. This is a great opportunity to teach them how God longs to hear our thoughts and feelings by talking with Him.
Here is an activity to help us remember what we’ve learned today - that we love, forgive, and share about Jesus with others because God loved us first.
